Over the Mountain and through the … Underdark ?
Baldur ’s Gate 3is an RPG that permit you to draw close practically every scenario differently and to your preference . When it comes to the Mountain Pass and the Underdark , both these paths volunteer very different challenges , and you must adjudicate which lay out you wish to face . Fortunately , I ’ve ventured through all the Underdark and most of the Mountain Pass , and I can give you a solid recommendation .
BG3 - Mountain Pass or Underdark
I recommend going through the Underdark , especially on your first Baldur ’s Gate 3 playthrough , as it put up a more expansive and interesting story on its own when compared to the Mountain Pass . It also provide a significant rise to have due to the transparent ill will of the place ; you ’ll be fight many different enemies within , admit classics like Drow and Gray Dwarves . More experience means gamy level , so you ’ll be far more inclined to confront the much warm enemies of Act II .

However , if you ’re looking for a much debauched route to make the rootage of Act 2 , the Mountain Pass is the clear victor . It is also easier to progress through than the Underdark , intend your trek through it is much less painful . Be warned though : if you choose to go through the Mountain Pass , you ’ll be missing out on wad of experience , so I do not recommend it .
How to Reach the Underdark in BG3
The fast way to attain the Underdark is through theGoblin Camp :
Whether you ’ve decided to side with the goblins or kill them all , their camp domiciliate a secret entrance into The Underdark from the main stronghold inside . Head inside , and look for adoor on the westerly side of the stronghold(as check below ) .
If you ’re hostile to the goblins , belt down the devil inside and follow the track around . You ’ll reach a room with a simple mystifier in it , and see four disc located in the heart of the room :

These disc must be positioned in the right order to start the hide stone door behind them . The answer to the puzzle is as follows :

you could completely bypass the puzzler as I did if you have a company fellow member with Lockpicking and Perception . There is a minor lever site on the rightfield of the Oliver Stone door , but it can only be found with a Perception chit :

gain ground the check , then use Sleight of Hand to get out the lever , opening the door . From this tip , it is smooth sailing . go across through the opened stone room access , and follow the path leading to a solitary ladder , which will serve as your entry point into the Underdark .
