Where to Find Cazador Szarr in BG3
Cazador Szarr is located in the dungeon of theSzarr Palacein Baldur ’s Gate 3 . Astarion will inevitably attack Cazador and get capture for the ascendant rite . This is where it catch tricky , as you must save Astarion before Cazador can consume him . If Cazador consume Astarion , your familiar will be for good remove from the party . I commend defeating Cazador within the first two turns to deliver Astarion . It ’s best to pre - burnish your party appendage before starting this boss conflict .
Another deception I figured out while fighting Cazador is the Vampire Lord is weak against sunshine . If you have a potent Cleric like Shadowheart in your party , employ the Daylight go to transport an item with the light of the sun , allowing you to move tight to Cazador and deal constant harm to him . ( I used Shadowheart to cast Daylight on Lae’zel ’s weapon , and then moved Lae’zel nigh to Cazador . It ’s best to keep one company appendage skinny to Cazador to deal damage , while the sleep of your squad deals with the lamia ’s minion . )

How to Save Astarion from Cazador in BG3
To save Astarion from being consumed , defeat Cazador chop-chop to force the Vampire Lord to get inside the Sarcophagus . Should you let Astarion Ascend in BG3?
After defeating Cazadork , you ’ll be faced with a difficult option : do you let Astarion ascend to Vampire Lord condition or not ? There are a few dialogue options you ’ll take on at this juncture . I recommend allowing Astarion to ascend to Vampire Lord position , as it strengthens him with a few bonuses and skills :
