Overwatch 2 player are feel changes everywhere , from a reworked Mercy to an incredibly buffed Wrecking Ball and everything in between . One fibre that has n’t been touched up in a while , though , is Cassidy . Plenty of us have been wanting a change to his Magnetic Grenade , possibly modify it back to Flash Bang , and the developers finally respond .
Cassidy’s Magnetic Grenade changes coming in Overwatch 2
The developer for Overwatch 2 recently throw an AMA ( ask me anything ) session on theCompetitive Overwatch Reddit page , where quite a little of players vex to require question about the game and their experience . One actor asked about Cassidy , Magnetic Grenade , to which Alec Dawson ( Lead Hero Designer at Blizzard ) said that changes might be coming before long .
" Magnetic Grenade is rather plane in what it does , " say Dawson , " and while some abilities can be in this space , Cassidy ’s kit already has a mountain of simplicity , making Magnetic Grenade a premier candidate for adaptation . "

That being said , though , it does not front like the Flashbang from the first Overwatch will be making a return . Dawson already state that they do n’t want Cassidy fully stunning enemies , express " we wo n’t be in full stun mode like Flash Bang . "
This announcement was a bitter tab to swallow for some lover who really wanted Flash Bang to render . Part of Cassidy ’s utility is being able to get oppose heroes who seek to flank . This was much easier to do with Flash Bang , though , which could stop a Genji orReaperin its tracks .
As to what they could do with Magnetic Grenade , a boring burden could be on the table . This would slow down grapheme like Genji or Sombra but still allow them to move . Dawson say that they want to " make for back some lost synergy in Cassidy ’s kit , " so rooter will have to wait to see what that entail .
