Remnant 2 Review: A Triumphant Rise from the Ashes

Remnant 2 exceeding my expectations and had me want more .

I never have a bun in the oven to enjoyRemnant 2 . I ’ve never been a devotee of soulslike games and lack the skill to succeed at shooters . Despite the recording label of " Dark Souls with guns , " I ’ve become addicted to Remnant 2 and ca n’t stop playing it . It is so much more than this comparison makes it out to be , with numerous and various worlds , unique archetypes , engaging combat , and — my favorite part — gainsay puzzles . While there are a few afflictive situation for me , Remnant 2 has earned its place as one of my favourite game .

Aesthetics

I was n’t indisputable how I ’d feel about the look of Remnant 2 based on the trailers , but once I was in - game , my feelings changed . What made each world finger alive , despite their decayed , dreary , empty atmospheres , was the aid to detail and intertwined traditional knowledge within all of them . Remnant 2 blend soulslike movement and mechanics with an over - the - shoulder joint shooter , but it endure far beyond that . Puzzles

The puzzle in Remnant 2 are by far my preferred part . I ’ve always enjoy lick puzzle since I first picked up The Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of Time , and Remnant 2 ’s teaser are a warm monitor of those sequences . With the game ’s procedurally generated worlds , everyone experiences a dissimilar order of encounters , require extra playthroughs to see them all . I enjoyed each world , but Losomn was my deary due to its interlink high fantasy mirror palaces and gothic cities , and I drop the most meter here .

Remnant 2 takes what made Remnant : From the Ashes and made it better . The gunplay feel great , the worlds are straggle but not too massive , and the puzzles and pursuit had just the correct amount of challenge . While I did n’t manage for the principal campaign , experiencing the interwoven story and rerolling my campaign to discover everything each human race offer was an absolute blast . Remnant 2 was not something I expected to enjoy due to its writing style , but I was pleasantly surprised when this was n’t the case .
