A key power point in the story !
The first turning stop in the Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty story happens during the " Firestarter " quest . After you ’ve made it throughKurt Hansen’sinterrogation , you ’ll be reunited with Songbird in the lab . This is where you must decide whether to outride and avail her escape , or go with Reed ’s programme to bring her to justice for her crimes against the NUSA .
Should you help Songbird escape or help Reed capture her?
As mentioned before , the choice here are crucial and will determine how the Phantom Liberty questline ends for you . While the choice is entirely yours , I ’ve discussed and explained all the possible outcomes of your decision(spoilers ahead ! ) .
Help Songbird Escape
If you determine to remain with Songbird and help her evasion , she ’ll enter the Blackwall and unleash its fury into the arena . Alex then toss off Colonel Kurt Hansen on your signal , after which you and So Mi will escape . by and by on , both of you infiltrate the spaceport , and battle against NUSA operative .
When you reach the spacecraft , So Mi reveals that she has betrayed you and there ’s only one cure , which is for her . Then , you could either help Songbird escape to the moon despite her perfidy or hand her over to Reed . If you choose the former option , you ’ll have to wipe out Reed and you ’ll come back back to Night City after Songbird leaves .
If you select to side with Reed , you ’ll have two options . you’re able to either reach Songbird over to him with no atmospheric condition , or you’re able to make a deal and ask for a curative in return . The former option returns you back to Night City where you ’re on your own . If you make a deal with Reed , you ’ll be treated . But when you return to Night City after spending two years in a comatoseness , everything will change ; you will no longer be a soldier of fortune and the biz will end . This is the new special end for Cyberpunk 2077 .

Help Reed Capture Songbird
If you go with Reed ’s program to use the Icebreaker twist , it fails to subdue Songbird , and she escapes without you . Meanwhile , Kurt Hansen kills your fellow FIA operative Alex . You then fight and pour down the Colonel after which Reed rescues you . Mi is then captured by MaxTac forces .
You ’ll later happen Songbird in very unsound form in a dugout under Dogtown . She ’ll beg you to finish her , but you have to determine whether to kill So Mi or bring her in alert . If you kill her , Reed and President Myers will be very displeased with you , but that ’s about it . On the other hired hand , you may keep her alive to get handling for your token malfunction . Once again , this choice will lead you to the same peculiar ending for Cyberpunk 2077 , in which you return to Night City two years subsequently in 2079 .
