Wild Hearts is a title filled with glorified high and abyssal lows . Playing this game summoned a spectrum of ever - change emotions for me because of how jarring aspects of it can be at random times . As a huge Monster Hunter fan , Wild Heart does a fantastic job scrape that itch , yet with a number of odd design decisions , and abhorrent general performance , I have to seriously speculate why this jewel was put out on shelves before being completely gleam . The paint is still pixilated on this one , folks , and it ’s going to be some sentence before it dry .
Gameplay
Wild Hearts plays akin to its obvious inspiration , Monster Hunter . It has a key hub for hunting preparation and assailable - field of battle maps where hunts will take post . The core iteration is highly simple : vote down big monsters , get their materials , and craft better cogwheel . This loop repeats until the net recognition roll , but it is heroic enough to keep your sake all the way through . It is a tried and true and true cycle , and Wild Hearts has no problems adapt it to its own unique style .
When you get down Wild Hearts , you are given a tutorial on the plot ’s most canonical affair and are then hurl into the game ’s first open field map . After a bit of a forgettable floor , you are then tasked with hunting Kemeno , fantastical beasts based on Japanese mythology . This is the meat of the game and what you ’ll be pass most of your time doing . As you might expect , this task is repetitive , but , like Monster Hunter , this repeat is masterfully mask with a stellar fight system .
colligate : How to take away branches in Wild Hearts
Combat in Wild Hearts is tight - paced , yet methodical in nature . Wild Hearts let you choose betweeneight unique arm , all with their own set of shop mechanic . Each golf stroke of a arm in Wild Hearts come with a common sense of somewhat realistic weight and ability attached to it . An overhead swing with the Nodachi return a sinewy bump , but also a convincing stiffness that must be account for . As such , approach must be deliberate and aim , or else you ’ll find yourself drop by the very beast you track down .
Where Wild Hearts really shines though is its unique Karakuri machinist . Karakuri are a readiness of structures that can be instantaneously built almost anywhere in the game . Structures range from basic cube for scaling superlative , to building ziplines for crossing over massive canon , to even constructing refineries for in - house ore output . It feels like you ’re setting up a whole base in a classic RTS because of the sheer volume of tool available to you here .

Multiplayer
Multiplayer in Wild Hearts is similar to playing other session - based game on the market . A host can set up a seance via the Campfire Karakuri bodily structure and then invite player into their secret plan . There are some disappointing limit though . For one , only the boniface can work up on Dragon Pits , the principal way of increasing your Karakuri capacity . The emcee ’s electrical capacity for build Karakuri is also share , and the histrion that join the legion must abide by the horde ’s limits , despite their own progress . Not coolheaded .
alfresco of general functionality , hunt in multiplayer were authentically exciting because Basic Karakuri do not share the same innkeeper - level limitation . Each player can use Basic Karakuri freely , meaning there is room for some insane team jazz band . At one distributor point , I put up the Bulwark Karakuri to aid a land teammate . The anserine Kemeno charged directly into the Bulwark , knocking himself out in the summons , while I bring home the bacon in teammate revival . It is moment like these that make Wild Hearts such a merriment game to play with a grouping .

I do have a beef , however , about the costless usage of Basic Karakuri in multiplayer . You see , several Basic Karakuri body structure actuate the moment you get near them . Placing the Spring Karakuri will launch you forward if you get close to it . Since everyone is affected by Basic Karakuri in the same way , you’re able to also use your squad ’s Basic Karakuri for a similar burden . The problem with this is that sometimes I would be push a Kemeno , only to incidentally run into a mate ’s Spring , establish me into unwilling danger . Annoying , but not a bounteous business deal , all thing considered .

Music/Sound
The euphony and sound in Wild Hearts are a mixed suitcase . General well-grounded effects like fowl chirp and footstep sound credible , but nothing jaw - dropping . Weapon golf shot , hammers crash into the footing , Karakuri summons , are all standard fare . Nothing bad , but nothing amazing either . Many of the medicine running that play when you ’re fighting large Kemeno are very memorable though . The mellow I get from listening to highlight like the gloom - inducing trail of a Fumebeak , and the cold-blooded , last - stand vibe given off by a Deathstalker , was incredibly exciting .
Voicing acting go away a fortune to be desire , however . I play with the default English dub , and ascertain most of the voices disqualify for the characters . Much of the delivery felt forced or over - overstated to the point of glee , and it pull me out of what small viable narrative Wild Hearts had to begin with .

Graphics and Performance
The nontextual matter in Wild Hearts are far from current - gen . Textures on static objective are very muddy and often blurred , drawing your eye to them the moment they add up into view . There are times when the game actually look decent , but those time are rarefied . When you ’re just looking over a large blowball field , the game can look pretty good . Still , the extreme contrast is a jarring centre sore , to be honest .
Then , we come to carrying out , which is abhorrent to a grade that can not be overstated , with the orotund offender being on PC . Despite having a mellow - end personal computer to function the game with , I run into frequent drops in frame during even non - combat scenario . Every time it happened was very noticeable because of how often FPS ( Frames Per Second ) would bounce around at random . In combat , at times , the biz would even drop below 30 FPS . This is not satisfactory for a game of this vivid fidelity .
I break away Elden Ring and Hogwarts Legacy on max options the minute they fall out . Both games had notable public presentation issues on PC , but nothing my system could n’t handle . For both of these titles , a short tweaking in the preferences get me near - perfect operation . deplorably , this is not the case for Wild Hearts . No matter what configurations I used , whether a preset or custom apparatus , nothing seemed to make any practicable difference toward improving functioning . I think this establishes just how awful Wild Heart ’s optimization really is in a few words .
Score:1/5
Verdict - A great game marred by awful optimization
Wild Hearts is a refreshing take on the monster hunter genre that willfully take from its intake but add enough innovation to be its own flavour . It has fun gameplay , solid mechanism , and a progression system that differs from the norm . Unfortunately , while everything about the actual secret plan is amazing , nothing stops a show quicker than a direful carrying into action , and Wild Hearts has that in spades . I hope that Koei Tecmo and Omega Force employment tight to mend these issues because under them is a very incontrovertible experience that many will miss out on if nothing is done .
